This privacy policy applies to all apps published by FactorialOne (“FactorialOne,” “we,” “us,” “our”). Our apps are built to respect your privacy. In short: your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud account — we never receive, collect, or store it.
The short version: Our apps only access what they need to work. Anything they save is kept on your device or in your personal iCloud account. We do not operate servers that hold your data, and none of your information is sent to us. We run no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers.
1.Apps this policy covers
This policy applies to all FactorialOne apps, including:
- Switchboard — a macOS menu bar app for switching audio output devices.
- CalSync — a macOS menu bar app for mirroring busy time between calendars.
- ScoresOnDoors — an iOS/iPadOS cricket scoring app.
It also applies to any future FactorialOne app that follows the same privacy-first design described here. It is available to users worldwide.
2.Information our apps access
Each app only accesses what it needs to do its job:
- App preferences and settings. Your configuration choices — for example custom device names and icons in Switchboard, calendar pairs in CalSync, or teams and game settings in ScoresOnDoors — are saved so the app remembers how you like it set up.
- Calendar data (CalSync). With your permission, CalSync reads events from your calendars and writes busy-time entries into a destination calendar you choose. This is used solely to provide the sync feature on your device.
- Game and scoring data (ScoresOnDoors). Teams, matches, and scorecards you create are stored so you can access them across your devices.
Our apps do not ask for your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, or microphone.
3.Where your information is stored
Your information stays with you:
- On your device. App preferences are stored locally on your device (for example, in standard system settings storage).
- In your own iCloud account. Where an app supports syncing across your devices — such as ScoresOnDoors game data and certain preferences — that information is stored in your personal iCloud account (Apple iCloud, iCloud Drive, and/or iCloud key-value storage) tied to your Apple ID.
We never receive your data. Because your information is kept on your device and in your own iCloud account, it is never transmitted to FactorialOne. We have no servers that hold your data and no ability to view, collect, or store it.
4.In-app purchases and subscriptions
Some apps (such as ScoresOnDoors) offer optional paid features, subscriptions, or a one-time unlock. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using Apple’s in-app purchase system. FactorialOne does not see or receive your payment card details. To confirm whether you have an active purchase, our apps rely on the purchase status Apple provides on your device. Your handling of purchases and billing is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
5.Apple as a service provider
Our apps rely on Apple’s platform services — iCloud/CloudKit for storage and the App Store for purchases. Apple’s handling of that data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy. We do not have access to your Apple ID or iCloud account contents.
6.How your information is used
Any information an app accesses is used only to provide that app’s features to you on your device. It is never used for advertising, profiling, or marketing, and is never sold or shared with anyone.
7.Third parties, analytics, and advertising
Our apps contain no third-party analytics, no advertising networks, and no tracking technologies. We do not share information with data brokers or advertisers. The only external services involved are Apple’s iCloud and App Store, which operate on your own account as described above.
8.Data retention and deletion
Because your data stays under your control, you can remove it at any time:
- Delete content directly within the app (for example, remove a calendar pair, team, or match).
- Revoke an app’s permissions in your device Settings (for example, calendar access for CalSync).
- Remove synced data through your iCloud settings, or by uninstalling the app.
We do not retain any of your information, because we never receive it.
9.Security
Data stored in iCloud is protected by Apple’s security infrastructure, including encryption in transit and at rest. Data stored on your device is protected by your device’s own security. Because we do not collect or store your data, there is no FactorialOne database that could be exposed.
10.Children’s privacy
Our apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because no personal data is transmitted to us, we do not build profiles of any users, including minors.
11.Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the rights to access, correct, delete, and port your data, and to object to certain processing.
Because our apps keep your data on your device and in your own iCloud account — and we never collect it — you can exercise these rights directly by managing the data on your device and in your Apple ID/iCloud settings. If you have questions, contact us using the details below.
12.International users
Our apps are available worldwide. Any cross-border storage or transfer of your synced data is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy terms. We do not transfer your data internationally because we do not receive it.
13.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add a new app or feature. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated within the relevant app.
