CalSyncR privacy policy

Last updated 4 November 2026

CalSyncR reads your calendars and writes busy blocks between them, all on your Mac. Your events are never sent to me, and there are no analytics, ads or trackers.

What the app reads and writes

  • Calendars. With your permission, CalSyncR reads events in the source calendars you choose and creates matching blocks in the destination calendars. Only the start, end and all-day flag are copied. The copied block gets your alias as its title, plus a hidden tag so CalSyncR can find its own blocks again.
  • Event titles, notes, guests and locations are never copied to the destination.

Where things are stored

  • Calendar pairs and settings are kept in your Mac’s preferences for CalSyncR.
  • The busy blocks live in your own calendars, wherever those calendars are hosted.

Network connections

CalSyncR makes one connection of its own: it checks factorial.one/calsyncr/appcast.xml once a day for updates, using the Sparkle update framework. Like any web request, this shows the server your IP address and the app’s version. It isn’t used to identify you, and no calendar data is ever included. Your calendars sync with their own providers through macOS, as they always do.

Analytics and sharing

There are no analytics, advertising or tracking tools in CalSyncR, and nothing is shared with or sold to anyone.

This website

This page covers the app. If you use this website, two more things apply:

  • Bug reports. When you send the bug form, I receive what you type in it: your name if you give it, your email address, and the details you write. I use them only to look into your report and reply. You can ask me to delete them at any time.
  • Tips. Tips go through Ko-fi, which handles the payment under its own privacy policy. I see your name and message if you choose to share them.
  • Site visits. The site counts page views with a self-hosted, cookieless tool that stores no IP addresses.

Children

The app isn’t aimed at children and doesn’t knowingly collect anything from anyone.

Changes

If the app starts handling data differently, this page will change first, and the date at the top will move.

Contact

Questions about privacy go through the same form as bug reports, on the app page. Say it’s about privacy and I’ll reply.
